Edgewater Primary School is a K - 7 public school situated just south of the Joondalup CBD approximately 23 kilometres north of the Perth CBD. It is situated within the City of Joondalup and is close to the fast rail services to Perth and just off the Mitchell Freeway at Ocean Reef Road.

Edgewater was approved as a suburb name in 1974 and is named after its location on the western edge of Lake Joondalup which is surrounded by Yellagonga Regional Park.  Edgewater is a residential suburb, with shopping facilities including a small supermarket, restaurant, newsagency, chemist, liquor store and barbecue facilities by the lake. Education facilities consist of  our school and Mater Dei College which is a private high school. There are also four childcare and after school facilities close by.
