Chatswood Hills State School aims to develop a warm, cooperative environment upholding every member's right to feel safe, to learn and to be respected. This supportive school environment is developed through our code of conduct of cooperation, care, consideration and common sense.

Our school has a strong commitment to providing academically rewarding experiences and opportunities, and within our stage-based structure children of different ages work together to increase their range of skills and knowledge. Differentiation is a major focus in all classrooms.

A strong extra-curricular program operates in our school. Participation for all is available in interschool and intraschool sports. In addition, our instrumental music program supports a band, choir and strings ensemble.

Situated in six hectares of native plantings, the school boasts an active project club that maintains a rainforest planting, aviary, shade house​, vegetable patch and a school-wide compost program.
