Newman Senior High School is located in the mining town of Newman 1200km North of Perth and is part of the Pilbara region.

The school benefits from a diverse cultural student and staff population. This has promoted cultural acceptance of peoples from diverse backgrounds enriching the school community. Ranges of learning opportunities, supported by many fine facilities, cater for students from 12 to 17 years of age.

The school has a strong partnership with BHP Billiton and other local businesses which supports many of the schools programs to enhance and enrich student learning. BHP sponsors programs such as the Mining Alliance Program which is unique to Newman SHS.

Students have the opportunity from Year 8 for academic extension and trade preparation through the provision of mining related learning experiences both at school and on site. The Sister Schooling program links our school with a high performing Senior High school in Perth (Shenton College) where students and staff collaborate to enrich and challenge learning.
