The school has a very mixed population base. We cater for many 2nd & 3rd generation ‘Amarooians’ in addition to a large number of transient families, generated by the recent expansion of many industries in Collie.
The school caters for a vast range of student abilities from those with learning disabilities to those who are talented and gifted. We have an Inclusivity Coordinator and a large number of Education Assistants to support children. The Dept. of Child Protection, School Psychologist, Chaplain, Child & Adolescent Mental Health and local paediatric services play a vital role in the pastoral care of our school community.
School decisions, where possible, are made through input from all stakeholders. The staff & School Council are key components of a collaborative decision making process.
Welcome to Amaroo Primary School one of the popular educators in your Collie area. Our aim is help you in your learning journey.
We endeavour to celebrate each other's uniqueness by providing opportunity for all and to develop a culture that identifies that the journey towards excellence is often paved with trial and error, risk taking, learning from mistakes, flexibility and adaptability. We believe that encouraging students to take ownership of the learning is critical in achieving the best learning outcomes and that implicit in this concept is that students learn their own areas of strength and areas of development, through useful and explicit feedback.
