Welcome to St Ita’s Catholic Primary school which was officially opened in 1989. The school is located in the West Gippsland town of Drouin, approx 140km east of Melbourne and has a student population of 185. St Ita’s is one of four Catholic primary feeder schools to Marist-Sion Secondary College, Warragul.

At St Ita’s Catholic Primary School we aim to provide an environment where children feel good about themselves and achieve to the best of their ability. We encourage our students to be active, independent learners with sound values that are developed in a school community that demonstrates our Catholic identity based on the Gospels and teachings of the Church.

The staff at St Ita’s are dedicated, professionals who are committed to instilling and modelling the message that learning is a life-long process. Our curriculum is designed meet the individual needs of all students whilst encouraging each to develop towards his/her full potential.

We welcome parents into our learning community and value their significant contribution to the education of their children. We promote open and honest communication and provide development opportunities for parents to enhance their role as the prime educators of children.

Our classrooms are modern, appealing and well-resourced. We have trained Literacy and Numeracy intervention teachers and teacher aides to assist children who experience difficulty in these crucial areas.

St Ita’s Catholic Primary school is very much a part of the wider Drouin parish and plays an active role in contributing to the wider community and its surrounding areas.
