Newington Public School is located adjacent to Sydney Olympic Park and services the suburbs of Newington and Homebush Bay. The school was built as part of the Olympic Village for the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. The school opened in 2002 with 55 students and has a current enrolment in 2009 of 391 students. The students bring a rich multicultural feel to our school, with 76% of students coming from non English speaking backgrounds. At Newington Public School we have high expectations and standards for all school community members.
