We are a Catholic School dedicated to the task of creating an atmosphere permeated by the Gospel spirit of freedom and love. In our community we - staff, students and parents are challenged to respond to the invitation of Christ, to be His followers.

In response to the needs of the Catholic community of Branxton, the first Catholic School was established in 1886 by Sisters of Mercy Singleton Congregation. We can recall with gratitude the faith and dedication of the pioneer priests, sisters, teachers and parents of the Catholic community who laboured tirelessly to establish the Faith and Christian traditions we express and value today. St Brigid's is the Primary School for the Greta/Branxton Parish while St Mary's at Greta is the Infants School.

The ultimate aim of our school is to provide a Catholic Christian Education that will enable the development of the whole child . St Brigid's uses the Diocesan Religious Education Program and provide opportunities to attend Mass, Liturgies and participate in daily prayer. We guide the individual towards a full Christian living through recognisable stages of moral, spiritual, emotional, intellectual, physical, social and cultural development. We strive to provide an environment based on values of justice, happiness, security and creativity.

We endeavour to pursue excellence in all fields of school education in accordance with each students' gifts and capabilities. Our curriculum encompasses the sum total of all experiences which take place within the school, with the formalised curriculum covering all Key Learning Areas following the Board of Studies syllabus documents.
